Two very different approaches to the use of their water resources….Two very different councils……
An Irish Town Planner’s Blog reports on Donegal County Council’s plans to trial waterpower-street lighting, using power generated from a hydroelectric device on the River Finn. Currently €50,000 has been set aside for it.
The same blog further reports about Kenmare’s plans to develop a Cultural icon in the town to rival the Sydney Opera house…Currently looking for some sponsors but roughly a €12.5m is required to bring this to fruition.
At least there is some innovation left in the County Councils…somewhere….
