CNN Political Ticker has reported that the incoming Obama administration intends on ending the Clinton policy of ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ relating to Gays serving openly in the military….
Posted: 02:45 PM ETWASHINGTON (CNN) — In an overlooked YouTube video posted on Friday, a spokesman for Barack Obama said the president-elect is committed to ending the policy that bars openly gay men and women from serving in the U.S. armed forces.
In a response to a question on the Web site Change.gov asking whether Obama would get rid of the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy, Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs said: “You don’t hear politicians give a one-word answer much. But it’s ‘Yes.’”
Gibbs on Wednesday expanded on his answer, saying, “There are many challenges facing our nation now and the president-elect is focused first and foremost on jump-starting this economy.
“So not everything will get done in the beginning but he’s committed to following through” with ending the policy against being openly gay in the military.

I’d say it’s a given. There was a meeting here last month of nearly 100 retired generals and admirals calling for it’s repeal. Those lads carry a lot of clout in the political and private spheres and there is a unique dovetailing of manpower pressures in the military itself.
I’ve learned there’s even a ‘waiver’ now for people like myself even.

Aye I think you could be right there HQ. It’s a small move but it has the potential to bring a big & easy set of kudos among the Gays…That said this Presidency is beginning to feel like one big West Wing episode more and more
.
Cheers for the comments!
