With all due respect Darth, he won by a 52%(D)(63,372,483) to 46% (R) (56,029,485) of the popular vote [CNN Results based at 19:33 GMT+1). While 52% is a majority, it is hardly a landslide in a two-horse race. I will concede however that with the electoral college results that the result is far more impressive statistic 349 (D) to 163(R). Winning Pennsylvania, and delivering Virginia is a marvelous move for any incoming Democratic President. Perhaps the old Democratic South is on the way back. Only time will tell in that regards. Back on topic though, the 349 to 163 result could be taken as a landslide, rightly or wrongly. It does depend on your opinion of the Electoral College system and whether it has an adequate place in a modern Democracy. Perhaps it does. The People always need protecting from themselves, at all times it could be argued.

That however is a discussion for another day. Many thanks for all the comments though today everybody. Greatly appreciated! We do love a bit of banter around the place. ;-)
